Assignment 2 - DJ's Road
(blank)Dae-Joong Kim had a long yet successful road to victory. He one of the most famous politicians in Korea, was born in Jeollanam-do in January 6, 1924. In early times, he was not a politician. He worked for a newspaper company in jeollanam-do as a CEO until October, 1950. After he decided to be a politician, he ran for office from 1948 to 1959. He failed to win election until November, 1963. His first win was the 5th National Assembly Election. After his winning, he has been to be threaten by opposite, he has be almost died three times. Finally, he became the President of the Republic of South Korea, in the winter of 1997. He won the Novel Peace Prize in October, 2000. He was a respectable symbol of peace and democracy in Korea. Unfortunately, Korea lost him in August 18, 2009.

He was one of my favorite politicians because he was so smart and had a good sense of humor.I couldn't still believe that he passed away. I would like to pray for the repose of him.
ReplyDeleteHe was president when I came to Korea and at that time, I didn't know about his struggles and contribution to deomocracy in Korea. I think I have learned more about him since his death than I knew about him when he was alive. It's unfortunate but I guess I was curious why his funeral was so big. His death was unfortuante.

ReplyDeleteI think he is a milestone in our president election history when we think about democracy. I also feel sorry that we can't see him anymore. I can not forget the moment when he stepdown from the airplane and shake-hands with Kim, Jung-Il at the Pyung-Yang, North Korea.
